Does anyone have suggestion for keeping your dog cool in the car for the long day of trialing?

by hexe on 24 April 2018 - 15:04

Crate fans, aluminum shade cloths, ice packs on top of crate, cooling mats for inside crate; also, fill empty plastic drink bottles with water & freeze, then place inside crate around the perimeter so the dog can lie up against them.

The aluminum-net shade cloths are worth every penny for the amount of heat deflection they provide--I've used two large ones to cover the top of my vehicle as well as the windshield, and they'll reduce the interior temp of the vehicle by as much as 20 degrees F when used with the windows all open and a couple of fans to move air through the vehicle.

Best of luck to you and your dog on the trial field!
