Duke:'LOL recently a dog bred hundreds of females without any videos of him working, so nothing is new.

these old type czech dogs are mislabeled by many people, because they Judge with an IPo or points eye.

The hardest biting dogs I had on the sleeve came out of Gero,

did they show flashy obedience, score points and are they famous, no but good dogs anyway,

the best dogs I have right now, the hardest and the strongest also come from czech lines where there are not a lot of videos, from,

but he, how many videos are there from other dogs back then, when we see video from Fero and Timmy we all break down crying and dont understand why anybody ever bred to these dogs.'

You're preaching to the choir, duke.

The reason Czech dogs may not make points is because they have shit training.

by joanro on 20 October 2017 - 14:10

So, duke, here is a video taken the year gero was born...this is a 'hard mtfkr! '.... the 'new and improved' IPO training of today is trying to emulate Yoshey's badazz style of fighting the decoy.

Bfang, i disagree with your statement that Czech dogs don't get points because they have 'shit training'. Your comment is evedence you have not had a true pzs dog that is not diluted with the west german sport dogs. They are very different, they don't have the prey/ ball / food drive that their western counterparts have. It takes creative training to get them trained for schh title. And as duke says, it's not flashy obedience. But the fight and desire to dominate the quarry ( man, not sleeve) is exceptional.

I've been blessed to have owned these type dogs but they are not for the 'cookie cutter points' trainers,  who don't understand these dogs and will fry them with ecollars because their usual methods just don't work....then they toss them into the trash heap and call them 'shitters'.

by duke1965 on 20 October 2017 - 15:10

so from that video you would call yoshi hard dog ??wouldnot call him hard, higher drive and not as well trained as we see today Wink Smile

by joanro on 20 October 2017 - 15:10

No, you missed the point for posting the video...it was to demonstrate that videos exist of dogs 'back in the days' of gero...this video was done the year gero was born.

And no, I'm not saying 'from that video you would call yoshy a hard dog'. That comment is from rumor, just like the rumors that gero was a hard dog. :-)

by duke1965 on 20 October 2017 - 16:10

think gero was whole different ballgame than yoshi, and it was to be expected there are more videos from BSP dogs than from Czech dogs these days, I had some classic video tapes from czech with some of the old dogs, dont know where they ended up now, some vids I transferred then

here is one that we see back in several pedigrees of good dogs today

My intent was not the compare gero and yoshy, but to show that video cameras existed 'back in those days' ...all the way back to the mid 1990s, lol. Even before Yoshy was born in 1994 the video camera had been invented. I used video cameras to record my training of my high school horses and liberty horses in the early 1980s so I could rewind and watch during the training session. Took the place of a coach when none was available.
So, even if nothing more than for business to promote the dog, videos were probly done that were better quality than the one posted on this thred.

I have some old video tapes of dogs like Chuligan and Pluto. I need to transfer them to CD s before they self destruct.

by duke1965 on 20 October 2017 - 18:10

Pluto is the one that least impressed me from all the old onesWink Smile

by Glock on 20 October 2017 - 20:10

So can someone post a vid of a hard dog and say how the vid shows it?

by joanro on 20 October 2017 - 20:10

First, 'hard dog' needs defined.

I believe it is not going to show up on video because it's not tangible...like 'character' is not tangible and difficult to capture 'character' of a dog on video.
