This is NOT one of my dogs. A lady that lives near me contacted me asking to help rehome her GSD. I've been networking her & trying to find her a home for about the last month. The owner just called & said she needs her gone NOW!
I don't think the dog is in jeopardy of being PTS, but she may just dump her at the local pound. I've asked her to give me a bit more time, but we'll see...
Izzy is UTD on shots & spayed. She is AKC reg. but looks to be from unknown, BYB type dogs.
Owner has taken Izzy through OB classes & she is fairly well trained, starting on hand signals etc... Good in the house & crate, good with kids & most other dogs. The only problem is owner's other dog (a smaller dog) & Izzy have gotten into a few nasty fights. From what I've learned it sounds more like a management issue vs a true dog aggression issue. They will get along fine for weeks, then have a big blowout. Owner said Izzy gets along well & plays with other dogs just fine.
She is asking a small rehoming fee, but will give new owner all of Izzys toys, crate, etc.
So if anyone with at least some dog handling skills or no other dogs is looking or if you know of someone, please contact me ASAP.
