Marjorie, can you put the Koi in the bathtub maybe? What about some of those blue rain barrels... maybe a fish in each?

They are too big to put into the bath tub  and I have 15 of them :( They have to have major filtration and if not, there must be a 2/3 water change everyday and the water must be paddled, for oxygen, constantly .I do have a show tank which is 10 feet round and 3 feet high, but there is no way to do the necessary water changes :( I am goping to have to go out many times during the storm to monitor the PH of the water, to prevent a PH crash which would kill the fish.  I cant cover the pond for the winter, which I was supposed to do next week,  because the wind will rip the cover to shreds. My pond has 3200 gallons of water, the water turns over several times a day- major filtration, and there is just no way to duplicate that. I grew them from 3 inch babies and I am so worried about them. Just got an email from Gov Cuomo about preparing for the storm.  I hope they dont make us evacuate, as the storm is so big there is just nowhere to go.  We built the seawals higher than it was during the Perfect Storm, but the Govt would only let us go up 2 feet higher. I dont think that will do much good if it is like last time, or worse, which they are saying it will be. Flood insurance covers nothing but the dwelling and home owners Ins calls it an act of God. There is just so much to do its ridiculous, but in the end, if the sea comes up, there's not a darn thing we can do about it.

I would most certainly chip in for a regular airline flight. The storm is going to throw a monkey wrench into any volunteer transport. I imagine the damage is going to be severe, as last I heard they estimated damage would be at 1 billion dollars :( I wonder if we could plead for more time for him, due to the storm.

If he stops in/near Omaha, I can probably find a boarding facility for a night and would be happy to do a leg of transport if needed...  We can't let that sweet face be PTS! :(

I wrote to a friend in Tehachapi, Ca to see if one of her breeder friends could foster for 3 weeks to a month and hold for transport. She is ill with Lupus so I dont think she could foster, as she already has 5 GSDS and isnt  well.

I'm positive that if we can buy him that much time, we can absolutely put together transport either via pilots n paws or raise
enough money for a commercial flight.

I dreampt of him last night... he haunts my dreams. We have to save him.

Is there a number I can call. Would love to adopt this dog

I have been really strapped for money this fall, but I JUST sold my Montana van, so I can chip in a bit towards boarding or any other financial needs, if necessary!

Sounds like something MY male would have done, and he even LOOKS a lot like my boy, with that dark face and blanket back!f

I think this would be the contact info for the shelter: http://www.cityoflancasterca.org/index.aspx?page=845

Unfortunately, it's difficult to find his info under 'adoptable pets' because their search function SUCKS! It brings up over 300 animals, at all the different shelters in the L.A. area!

His impound number is  Impound 4498815 so if you call, use that number.

can someone call the shelter  661-940- 4191 and ask if they will take out of state rescue 501c3, please. I am preparing for storm and they dont open till 10 am California time. Please find out if he is altered and if he must be altered to leave shelter. I will sneak on here later, but if DH finds me saving dogs when we need to save our house, he will kill me. Please find out if 501 c3 papers can be faxed to shelter and get shelter fax number.  If he must be altered, please find out alter fee and all fees involved in pulling him. Post it all here. Thanks
please let me know who can chip in to get this boy to Melissa if she will take him. If not, Julie will take him in S carolina.
