I am so sorry for your loss. I know all to well how hard it is too loose a young dog. Sorry you did not get to say goodbye to him. But I know he knew how much you loved and cared for him.

R.I.P. Bosco!

I'm starting to get better over the loss of him. It's starting to settle in that he's gone. This is the first dog I've lost this young. He will be remembered.

Reliya

for the benefit for others and myself can you post what you think may have led to this young dog getting bloat?
Diet, last set of activity/timing by dog before incident , and bloodline ( ped ). You can post anything else you think may help shed some light on what occurred .
Thank you in advance and know that our thoughts are with you and your family at this time of tragedy.

Since I was sore from the accident, my time with Bosco on Saturday was limited and someone else fed and watered him that day. It could be because he was given access to as much water as he wanted in this huge tub plus the fact that he was running free in my yard. I believe he consumed too much water and ran right afterwards, but I cannot say for sure because I wasn't the one monitoring him. Plus, Bosco has been eating quickly since I first got him. I believe I made a post on here asking how to slow him down specifically because I was fearing bloat. So, it could have been his quick eating, consumption of a large amount of water, and exercise for that day.

For anybody who read my other post with the xray of my female dog, the timing just happens to be a bad coincidence. The xray is about a year old, but I recently asked my vet to send it to me in an email so I could ask people here about her hips. Taking the chicken out her diet fixed the issue. Bosco did not have chicken the day of the accident.

I did not have two dogs get this way within a week of each other.

(I'm posting this publicly because of a message I received.)
