I found this website link on an earlier post. Can someone please explain to me, what a Panda Shepherd is??? These look like a mixed breed to me. This person is passing them off as "Rare" and high quality dogs? This surley can't be standard!!! I would hope no reputable breeder supports this? http://www.pandashepherds.com/

Charlie, I agree that perhaps controversy was not the best word to use for this issue. They have definitely made a stir anyway. Had more to add to the conversation but since I make one comment and am now getting nasty personal emails I am bowing out. I don't have the time for that sort of thing. You are right, they do not meet the original breed standard.

corieone, why would you receive nasty posts as a result of your post?? You were right on... It is true folks, according to all the other lists (GSD Genetics, especially).. I believe the owner says its a double mutation. My friend the geneticist, questions the method of determination and instead suggest a couple of interesting syndromes...which of course the owner wants to hear nothing of! surprised? of course not There are no white dogs in the pedigree, as far as I could research.... But as we say every night leaving training - "It is what it is" and to me, it looks like a big border collie!!

one big thing is that she is regisering them as black and tans....so AKC doesn't even know tht they are border collies in a gsd body......Even though I agree that AKC needs to reajust alot of things and that they are only in it for the money....how are they to know that this is a multi colored dog if all the paperwork says black and tan? DKiah, I have no idea why my post annoyed someone enough to send me nasty emails. I wasn't worried about things said here. I actually already have received one nasty email to my email address. No sender listed of course. Perhaps the person has nothing better to do, I don't know. Yep, they do look like large border collies.

Corieone, Nobody should be childish enough to email you privately about something like this, some people are just fools, sorry on their behalf

Charlie, Thanks, you are right. I decided not to worry about it. Does seem rather silly for anyone to get so upset about what I said to email me like that. Hate to see what would happen if I said something really outlandish. LOL

Corieone, Now you know why some of us choose to remain anonymous and not disclose our names or email addys. Some of us have practically been the victims of cyberstalkers on this board. They have even gone so far as to make it their business to find out contacts in Germany and where some of us worked and posted it to the board. One of the cruelest posters is here under at least 4 aliases. What started it all was the disclosure of information regarding a dog scammer and a warning to not do business with them. You just never know what's going to set off an unstable individual.
