| Yes he has blk all the way down to the bottom Of his feet on the hind legs (tarheels) and he has blk toe Marks on every toe front and back |

| In the UK he would have to be registered as black and tan as they don't accept bicolour as a colour. |

| Nellie, can I ask, What is missing with this pup to say his is not patterned. He certainly is looking bi-color to me. I see so many that are really blk and tan labeled bi. I love a true bi-color. I wish someone that has bi-colors regularly would chime in. Is that one of yours YR? My sister used to get bi-colors. Wish I could call her and ask! |

| What Nellie means is all bi-colours are black and tan, bi-colour just explains the pattern of the colouring, as does having a black 'saddle' or a dark mask - its not actually a colour in itself. |

Doppelganger thankyou for explaining for me  , Kitkat realy and truly it is impossible to see if the pup will remain this dark, in the past i have had a dog that looked like this that ended up a blanket black , I am a big fan of Bi-colours having had 3 all blacks 4 Bi-colours and 1 Blanket black , but as i said the dog is Black and Tan, coat pattern is yet to be determind, nothing is missing |

| That's also what I thought Nellie, I knew that the bi is the pattern of the color, just thought I was missing something. Like I said, I see a lot of dogs labeled as bi-color that are not. Missfly, I would rather see you wait a while to reg. Your pup so you can call it what it is. There are a few really nice pics here on other threads discussing bi-colors, I just went and read some. Nice pup,none the less! |

| Melba's post gives great examples of how hard it is to tell with puppies--I recently had a litter out of a melanistic black/red with black recessive female (about as dark as Melba's female) by a bicolor male with the black recessive. Won't know until they're older which coloring the pups will have, for many of the pups. Christine |

| I was hoping those who know would come out. Beautiful dog Melba,would love pics of yours. Blackthorn. A picture is worth a thousand words, especially when it comes to bi-colors. There are a lot that are listed as bi, that are not. Not that it is deliberate, people just don't know. |
