don't think this has been up before;

alarm get a 911 call, police did what they had to with given info.

this could happen to anyone when you are not home and police get a 911 due to a home alarm and your dog goes off.

either get rid of your alarm system or have the dog confined with signage so police know.

apparently this is the mild vid, others show the lady asking for another bullet for the dog.

admit i chickened out of watching it.

warning could be very graphic & disturbing

The owner is an absolute idiot! How could she NOT know what would happen if the alarm went off?? The police, or the security co. HAVE to check out the alarm, and they obviously cannot do so without confronting the dogs!  Angry Smile

Anyone who posts on this database could have predicted EXACTLY what was going to happen the minute that officer opened the gate!

SMH....

Blackmalinois, please go and watch the full video. He was responding to an alarm call, he even tried to call her. He entered the property on foot because the gate was locked. Can you imagine if he did not enter the property because the gate was locked or because there was dogs and there was an actual emergency?
For sure a sad and unfortunate event.

No clear solution besides not to enter the property till they reached the owner. Obviously if a motion or a door sensor went off it was most probable an error with two rotties roaming around. Don't have an alarm if your not going to answer your phone after it goes off you, twit. The signs worked against her I'm sure the officer was ready for confrontation with those signs.

This is not US cops like to kill to kill dogs, BM. It looks like non lethal means would have worked here. I was just in a position like this with three dogs who charged me, I was armed and drew, but backed all three down, I could tell the likelihood of them really engaging was very small, but I have way more experience then that Deputy does. This can't be the best we can come up with in this nation. That said until the rules and tools for this are better defined we are going to continue to have silly mistakes cost dogs lives.

I can't imagine the lawsuit if the officer made the assumption that the dogs set off the alarm, and then decided to not enter the property for that reason and there actually was an emergency. What if it was an armed robber, rapist, murderer, etc. The list goes on. Unfortunate situation of course, but I don't feel the officer was another dog murderer as other videos have posted in the past have shown.
