heat cycles on BRT's? discussion please!

I have had my BRT's for two years now and look to breed my female.  She is xrayed with fabulous hips, all else sound, structure great, etc.  A friend mentioned these dogs have "silent" heat cycles or do nto always display estrus well.   I thought it wise to ask those of you with these dogs.    Any advice and commentary is appreciated.
