An imageThis is to ALERT all German Shepherd Breeders and buyers of what happens when you sell a dog to China.

True Red And Black West German Showlines in China's Ping An A Fu shelter. Is this really absurd or what! I count 5 right there and one Rotweiler. How in the world does this happen! When I was breeding I've had request for my pups to go to China and I refused (and several other countries) but clearly plenty of unscrupulous German & American breeders could care less and off they go.

From an article found on a site  do a search for "articles by Fred Lanting" wherein the author proudly stating how much several dogs sold for to China. (where they still eat dogs!)

" Natz Herdersfarm, the latter offered to a friend of mine recently for about $30,000! Additionally, several nice dogs were missing from the scene; for example, Untox, Whisky, and Nero have been sold to China."

"VA-3 Hill Farbenspiel is one of those boy wonders, winning his young dog class and then catapulting the next year into VA recognition. He is anatomically an improvement over his sire Huppy Arlett, to whom I gave V-1 in Beijing China April 2003 (he was sold to Red China after failing his courage test one year, after getting VA-10 in Germany) "

 2x VA Larus von Batu, the Yasko Son went to China. For $750,000 DOLLARS. Yes you read it right..... The highest priced ever received for a German Shepherd Dog.         So Shameful....

as if many breeders care what happens once they get paid. some clips of dogs going to the middle east make me feel ill.

then again do we have to go any further than our domestic shores to see the horror, china eats dogs, US and elsewhere let them fight to the death, legally or not.

disclaimer, some I know care very much.

Kerschberger, I read the first version of your post - you really should apologize.
At school I learned - at first READ, than THINK, and after that you may answer...

by Blitzen on 20 August 2015 - 18:08

And make that a public apology, Gina.

I have edited this thread to remove all posts related to the breeder mentioned in the OPs original post. I have also removed all posts that just wouldn't have made sense without the posts that proceeded them.

On our end - we are sorry we did not catch it earlier and remove the slanderous material sooner. Life happens and we all have lives, responsibilities and family emergencies that come up. Please feel free to contact me immediately if a problem like this occurs in the future. I have added my email to my profile so feel free to use it if needed. It goes directly to my phone so if I am not here you can still contact me.

Kerschberger - you seriously need to make sure you know facts before you just post non-sense about another person/breeder. Calling them names and disparaging their reputation. Then to play it off like you did, telling this breeder what and how he should post things to his website is pretty much just a deflection on your part. A better way to have handled it would have been a public apology announcing your mistake. I do think IMHO you owe the person you mentioned a public apology that is sincere and not blaming it on the articles you read on his site. Listen we all make mistakes and you should be woman enough to hitch up your big girl panties and say sorry. It is common courtesy to issue apologies when you F up like this.

I do think the rest of the thread has merit and people need to think long and hard before selling animals to anyone, anywhere. It isn't always about the money or is it?

Regards,

Mick

How is the Middle East any different from other parts of the world in regards to dogs VK ?

correct me if I am wrong but it appears in some interpretations to be built into the dominant religion in that neck of the woods, mileage will vary, ;

"A hadith by Prophet Muhammad seems to be a common reference point for many Muslims. The hadith translates as: "If a dog licks the vessel of any one of you, let him throw away whatever was in it and wash it seven times."

"Najis,", an Islamic legal term which translates to "unpure" in English, is the central concept in this argument. Many Islamic scholars agree that the saliva of a dog is ritually impure. Because of this factor, most Muslims tend to believe that a dog cannot coexist in a household with them.

A dog's fur is also widely believed to be unclean amongst Muslims, as dogs routinely shed. It could be common for a dog's fur to get on clothes, furniture and other inhabitable territories. Many Muslims also believe that hands need to immediately be washed after coming in contact with a dog. "

from the godless Wikipedia;

"Dogs[edit]

Main article: Islam and animals § Dogs

Saluki dog
According to the majority of Sunni scholars, dogs can be owned by farmers, hunters, and shepherds for the purpose of hunting and guarding and the Qur'an states that it is permissible to eat what trained dogs catch.[36] Among the Bedouin, the saluki dogs are cherished as companions and allowed in the tents.

Nevertheless, many Islamic teachers state dogs should be considered unclean and that Muslims licked by them must perform ritual purification. According to a Sunni Islam Hadith, a plate that a dog has used for feeding must be washed seven times, including once with clean sand mixed with the water, before a person may eat from it."

Thank you, Mick.

It's not fair to generalize about dog owners based only on their location. There are great dog owners in the Mid East.  Some read this forum and suggesting that no one from their cultural/religious background would do right by their dog/s is a snobbish insult. There are bad dog owners everywhere including the US, OZ, and Germany. Every breeder worth his or her salt requires references for every dog sale, not only dogs bound for the mid east.
