Does anyone have contact info for the person owning Mega Cega? Also, are there any dogs in the US from Cega Kennels? Looking for relatives of Hestch Cega CS. Thanks. Email gsd1973@prodigy.net or call 812-945-3921 Susie Griffin

If you look on the link you will see that Bev Campbell has a new pup from them. I don't believe it is from Heiko's lines as they had a brother that was unmanageable. Even more so than Heiko.

Don't take this wrong, but who are you to state that Heiko is unmanagable? Do you own Heiko (aka Hestch)? I am good friends with his owner and know the dog personally. He is a very strong dog in temperament, but unmanagable? Give me a break. People need to spend LESS time on the internet bashing other people and their dogs and spend more time with their own animals.

I know the guy that owned and had Mega imported. Trained with him a bit when he had her. Tried to breed her to Belschik Eicken Bruche, sold her later to Redlands Kennel (I think). If you want, you can email me and I can put you in touch with who first imported her. RacinCajn@aol.com

I have seen, known and trained with Heiko personally also. Maybe a better word is unpredictable. In all other ways he is a very nice dog. He has bitten several people for no apparent reason, including his handlers. Even once just doing the obedience routine of going through the group. I know his owner also. I also know that she leaves his ecollar on him 100% of the time because of his unpredictability. It is NOT a personal bash. It is stating facts. Why would YOU take offence anyway! He's not your dog. I PERSONALLY know his brother's owners also. He is has been a Schutzhund trainer for 30 years. It was his own personal dog. He personally told me the dog was untrustworthy and he ended up putting him down rather than take the liability of selling him or training him further. (many people offered) Really it's none of your business if I am on the internet or training my dogs. THat has nothing to do with any of the above facts. Debby Melle gsddebby@earthlink.net

I know Heiko personally also.....from the day he arrived in this country to the present. I also knew his first owner/handler and know his present owner/handler. This was one of the best young dogs I've ever worked, and I've worked a lot of them. Debby, your "facts" about Heiko are a bit skewed. He has never been "unpredictable", only his handlers. I also trained with Hades and his owners for some years and know that situation also. I've been around Heiko (Hetsch) on the field, at home, at seminars (even handled him at an Armin Winkler seminar). The only problem with Heiko is that his first owner let the dog run the house. I know the FACTS about the people bitten, and witnessed some of them. They were the fault of an alcoholic handler, and/or of people that were ignorant on approaching or handling this type of dog. He is not a dog that will accept an unfair correction, but will take anything you give him if the training is fair and clear. Heiko is not a golden retriever, he is from very strong working lines bred for good nerve and strong working drives and proper aggression....he represents his breeding very well. Susie, I also know the owners of Boj Cega (now deceased I believe) and Ciba Cega (also decease) and both were very nice dogs. If you want any info from them, contact me and I can put you in touch. Thank you Jeff and Mike. We're trying to find some of Heiko's family and I have easier internet access than Michelle has at work. Debbie, I have played with and groomed Heiko and the only complaint I have with him is the old bear kept wallowing around on his back hitting me with his feet insteading of laying still. He did not have an e-collar on. My kids were playing about 25 feet away, yelling and screaming as they were mock training each other on my schutzhund a-frame. That sounds pretty managable, and predictable. Heiko and his owner are my friends and we watch out for our friends.
