HELP my puppy has dry skin what can I use? by Mrs K on 03 July 2012 - 17:03 |
| Conan has flaky dry skin which makes him itchy, and I tried a few things but now I'm stumped. Does anyone have any suggestions. |

What are you feeding? What have you tried? Have you tried adding some Salmon oil to his food? How often do you bathe him? What shampoo do you use? |

| I was feeding him puppy chow which did not work so I've recently started feeding him Canidae Brand food. The Vet told me to give him fish oil for his skin and at the moment I'm using a oatmeal puppy shampoo twice a month(every other week). But if you have any ideals please let me know.

| They make tea tree oil shampoos now that are very good for dry and itchy skin problems. It also seems to keep fleas and ticks away as well. I recently bought a bottle for my dogs and have seen improvment in their coats and skin. Plus I don't find anymore nasty ticks on them now. |

| The tea tree oil shampoo is nice, and works well. Maybe alternate with the oatmeal. I have also heard coconut oil works well too. I have used fish oil and raw eggs for rescues, and it seemed to have made a big difference. |
