They can work on civil without any problem, with a big stability. KNPV dogs are mostly used for protection work (polic, security).

I had seem a web site somewhere that had this bllodline, they claimed to have DM clear lines.
So, I went & tested my Mali pup ( Mace's ODA ) with DDC Vets  ( trust me google it )
for 65.00 I found out my baby girl is a DM Carrier, a grand daughter out of the world famous Byrack ?
I have the paper work if anybody want to see it. If you look on OFA you will see 50 % I think of the German Sheperds were carriers or affected with DM.
This will set the bar in Mali's soon so I would rather spend the 65.00 per sire & dam & get my stock tested then to pass on the nasty problem to others. I would hate to hear stories in the future of Mali's having to be destroyed over something so easy to test.
This really is a new problem that not to many people know about, but it is very much in this breed.
Too many breeders are to big for their britches & they live in a fantasy world thinking it is not in their lines, but it could very well.

Byrak was world famous ? According to who ?

I have seen some nice dogs out of this line, good possession, good drives and nerves. Are you getting a pup directly from this kennel ?

Your pup was out of Jasta and what female I don't know but to blame your pup carrying DM on one dog that constitutes a 1/4 of your pups pedigree is silly. Find out the other dogs in the pedigree and see if you find any consistencies. Jasta's mother had issues and died at age 4 of cancer. She was a female that John Browne had bred from his dogs. Byrak was a very well known dog and made some excellent dogs but he made his crap too.

Ps- and if you were not implying the DM was from Jasta/Byrak, my apologies in advance.
