And those defending those 'manufacturing' companies involved in producing commercial 'raw' foods, plus those who swear nothing ever comes into the home inside bags of kibble, are possibly displaying a certain bias or financial interest ?

 

The OP told us straight off the bat that she had been using a non-airtight container.  If it happened that some mites got onto kibble through that unsealed bin, (never mind where they actually originated), and then some crawled onto the dog's face from his bowl, this could have been enough to set off the allergy initially in a susceptible animal.  No matter, past that point, whether there are many or few mites, or whether or not they have continuing access.
