We can probably ALL echo the first 2 points in Riks post !

As to the third, and your recounting switching to raw, 'Bill', maybe I should give it a try, as my current dog probably rivals your puppy for title of world's most flatulent dog ! Never known anything like him in 50 years of GSDs ! (He seems fine on his kibble in every other respect). Maybe the one thing we can agree with the vets on is that dogs are all different individuals.

Its just good to hear that you have found a method which suits you and your pup.

Hund put 1/4c vinegar on his food and you may enjoy breathing again.

WR Its not really so much the farting, he has the noisiest gut generally and 'constantly' (well, very frequently !) burps and belches and hiccups, like I never heard before. [His digestive system still works normally; frequency, stool colour, formation etc all normal, and he does not throw up.] Thanks for the tip though, I'll give it a try. Is that ordinary malted vinegar, or white or cider or balsamic, or something ? Every meal (i.e. twice daily )?

I use cider with the Mother in it but think any would work

I would say once a day should do it more if needed.

Now there is a fine example of us being 'divided by a common language' ! I had to google vinegar 'mother', and was not much wiser since in the UK not only do we not normally refer to this beast, but it does not look as though we use them. Our 'malt' vinegar is based on beer; something that does not seem to feature in American descriptions ? And it seems that whatever type of vineger you are brewing in the States, whether wine, cider, salad, etc, you use or make a 'mother' gelatinous disc for that particular type of vinegar. Who'dathought ?

Dexter has just eaten his dinner complete with some Balsamic (the classy Mediterranean salad / cooking variety) on it; wasn't sure he would at first, 'cos he sniffed suspiciously when I first offered it. But he has scoffed it down quite happily in the end - so now I'll just monitor his gut noises for this evening, and see what transpires.
