There are many dogs with the same name. That is why in PDB, if we find two dogs with the same name, we add the year of birth after the name. There is now a Vesta vom Ebersbach (2003) and a Vesta vom Ebersbach (1980). Both verified by data on SV-DOxS and my DDR NZB books.
This happens many times. You should see the Italians. They have one litter where they named two of the dogs (litter sisters) the same name
Asia von Haus Irto ROI 14/126820 and Asia von Haus Irto ROI 14/126828 Jun 22, 2014.

We admins catch these all the time, but also miss them if there is no reason to look though the pedigree. When building a pedigree, you should always try to enter the date of birth and registration number for all dogs,  Then when finished, take a quick look back through the pedigree to see if the dates seem to be in order.

I,m glad that Czech breeders have some wisdom and chose Western lines above that Czech lines
only than they get some quality. Most of Western breeders don,t went/need Czech dogs for that has a reason they don,t need them.

Many years ago I saw that Staatsmacht dogs in Germany and Belgium and recognize direct quality
I owned a Leon x  quality belgium female son long time ago when people start wake u.

One of the best PROVEN quality producer in KNPV over last years is Leon Staatsmacht IMO

There start many young dogs in KNPV only a few get a proper certification ,will not say
that all dogs in KNPV are quality dogs and sure GSD over the last years I only saw a few who are realy impressed me.Quality female GSD an other rare fact in KNPV

Its not only important to recognize quality but also what is NOT , what I said many years ago
Czech dogs are over hyped and over priced ,pure czech pedigree GSD are rare to find today
most of them need quality from western lines and breeders in their pedigree.

Blackmal, why do you keep knocking Czech dogs ( presume you are talking specifically about the zps dogs and decendants which come originally from the DDR)

Do you realize the zps dogs were developed for a very different job than the the west sport lines?
There is no good reason to knock dogs that I own and that many other breeders and owners prefer.
Narrow gene pool forces the mixture of lines. Some of the best dogs I have, have west and old Czech lines mixed.
But I have a litter now that is basically old Czech lines that are the toughest, driviest ( but not insane screamer like so many west sport) solid nerves, strong grips..... of anything I've seen from west or Czech.

Can anyone have an opinion. No names were mentioned . Nothing said about your litter . No digs we're made at you . What was said would be fairly accurate staatsmacht dogs are if very high quality . Czech dogs are some times we'll over priced . I've heard many times I have a Czech line from such and such and The hype is way higher than the dog . I've looked at a good few Czech dogs over the years and I've only taken home a handful .

BlackMalinois
i'm also curious why is that so much hate you do have toward Czech's dogs?
and what is so significantly different in KNPV, comparing to IPO or any other so call "protection" sport, that you believe only KNPV dogs are something worthy?
i don't give a damn the dog is titled in IPO or KNPV if that dog on the walk way too occupied by sniffing the piss on bushes, when at that time some punks beating shit out of his handler.

@ bladeege....Sure opinions are allowed...he gave his again, and again and again...., and I can respond to his opinion, same as you responded to mine. Not constructive to get your feelings hurt over my opinion, however.

The dogs were bred for different purposes. Knocking one over the other is no different than saying the black and tan coon hound is better than the grey hound.
And there is so much over hype per the west dogs and many way over priced...goes both directions.

I am allowed to mention my litter as an example and support for my statement,, same as you stating you only took home a hand full of Czech dogs...so what.

Nobody mentioned your name either, yet here you are complaining.

This is, after all, supposed to be a discussion forum. If opinions are to be the final say, with no one allowed to comment, why bother having a 'reply' section.

Valk, my opinion of your post is... excellent post !!!

I do think KNPV is a more challenging sport than IPO and is designed to help select dogs for police work much more than IPO. Many dogs in IPO could not obtain KNPV titles. The vast majority of high line GSDs would not pass KNPV. The sport is dominated by unregistered Mals and DS's and many people who dabble in IPO could not manage a lot of the dogs in KNPV. As for Czech dogs, they can vary quite a bit in terms of genetics.

by joanro on 03 January 2019 - 17:01

So do the west dogs vary quite a bit in genetics....as you said, some can do knpv, some can do ipo. But most do neither, when one looks at the numbers of dogs compared with those doing sport.
