If a AKC puppy is sold with limited reg. Can they be reg. With UKC and Shown in UKC shows? or do they have to have full AKC registration?

Limited AKC registration restricts breeding and subsequent registration of the dog's offspring with the AKC .... not showing to the best of my knowledge.  Some breed book based organizations restrict the showing of neutered animals ( SV and perhaps GSDCA shows under the SV WUSV banner ?? ) but AKC has no such restrictions for their events.  As far as IPO goes the DVG is all breed and has no breeding restrictions so neutered or non-breeding eligible dogs can be trialed.  In general only those organizations that make money off of breeding and registrations care whether your dog can be bred due to neutering or their phoney baloney paper work that they make money from selling.  I have no idea about the UKC.

Yes. You need to make a photo copy of your AKC certificate. Take 3 photos of your dog standing, right side, left side and front. On the UKC web site is a form you can fill out and list 3 generations of your dog if you know it. Send in all with the fee and you will get your papers and can then show UKC. I hope this helps! :) Have fun!!

Why was the puppy registered with limited? Does the puppy have faults of some kind? Or did you originally want limited and now want to show? If that is the case, your best bet is to ask the breeder to change to full because you decided you want to show the puppy after all. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't chance it without known if the puppy had a fault if it wasn't given full by the breeder.

Bubba, you can trial a neutered dog within SV, there is no restriction.
Show and breed survey is different

I was asking, Because I only wish to let my pups go, with limited AKC. Some new owners do wish to show and try to get titles on the pups/dogs (with UKC). I just wanted more info on how that worked. My 12 yr. old daughter wants to show (UKC)and get as many titles on our young girl ,as we can this summer too! I thank all of you for the info. The young female, my 12 yr. old daughter wants to show (EshelmanSchwitz Aura Vom Ansbach)

Per the AKC website: "A dog registered with an AKC Limited Registration shall be ineligible to be entered in a breed competition in a licensed or member dog show. It is eligible, however, to be entered in any other licensed or member event. These events include: Obedience, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, Agility and Earthdog." http://www.akc.org/register/limited-registration/

As an addition ... UKC is now offering many nose work titles which is a step in the right direction for real working dogs and not just those dedicated to biting sports. This can only help in the development of more dogs doing nose work for all those jobs that need them. It may be time to join the UKC just for their nose work program.

With AKC limited you cannot enter AKC conformation or breed and register the litter. You can however make a copy of the certificate and send the pictures to UKC, have the dog registered with them and can show in UKC conformation. I have double registered my personal dogs for years, I do not register my litters with UKC. I want to be able to show in more venues of obedience, rally and do the conformation. UKC obedience IMO is harder than AKC obedience; but all is fun being out and training and enjoying your dogs!!! Happy showing!!
