Take video of the dogs and report them as aggressive and off leash, let the local authorities take care of it

Second taking video... also, hornet spray is not regulated, nor are air horns or like moons said, a cattle prod. I like the idea of the cattle prod actually... wish I had come up with that one.

I wish people would put their dogs on leashes. I have the same issues in my neighborhood. I can't walk my dogs in peace because of all the herds of loose dogs. We don't have a leash law in this area and no animal control people to call. I love the country, but wish people would leash their dogs. I love hearing that people feel their dogs are happier roaming the neighborhood, walking on the road, etc. *shaking my head*

There is a little old lady down the street from us with a little white poodle. She will - I kid you not - stand outside in her robe, and watch as her dog roams the yards nearby and wanders in the street. I can't even count how many times I've had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting that thing, and then they both just stand there and stare at you with that deer in the headlights look... the lady makes no move to get the dog. Heh, my grandma once rolled the window down and told her to go get the thing or she was going to run it over - not said in the nicest of words either. ;)

Fry, there are sprays for attacking dogs, they have it on chewy's. I would have a can of that on hand.

i got neighbors like that. they let there dogs loose to tease mine, but if mine gets loose they yell at me.  people are just plain stupid and are trying to make the world revolve around them.

Fry..take a baseball bat with you...and next time see dog charging just bend your knees, pull the bat back behind your head and make it look like you are ready to send her dog on a home run...that will get her attention..LOOOL.

Teaching a hard lesson to as well as holding the high ground in dealings with unstable person (and their untrained dog) is not the best course of action and could possibly lead to more headaches for you.

Dragonfry - your last post is the reasonable and legal approach. Of course you retain the right to self-defense via threat/use of force, but avoiding conflict when possible is smart.
