Anne - Can you please clear something up for me? Was Hemi microchipped by the breeder before you got her?

by joanro on 23 December 2018 - 18:12

She said on the previous page that her vet chipped the dog at the time of exrays.
I don't see where this person is doing anything to scam bFox, since she is looking out for the health of the dog....rather than breeding a crippled dog.

DNA will confirm parentage of the dog if the reg is legit and not the wrong parents...at this point it makes zero difference, since the op is not trying to get anything from the supposed breeder of the dog in question. She is only refusing to breed a crippled dog, same as any humane, responsible person.
Also, she stated she has a lawyer on the case   Edited by Western Rider

Koots, do you think it matters when this dog was chipped? I don't. Like I said on previous pages, DNA can id the parentage ( if the reg papers have the actual parents listed...reg papers are only as good as the person filling them out) The so-called breeder of the dog should have thought about chipping his pups before he sold them...but then it would not be as easy for him to claim fraud against honest, responsible pup owners.
Too bad the op didn't do research on this scammer before getting involved with him.

I thought Anne said something about the vet chipping the dog, but wanted to make sure. If the breeder chipped the dog and registered the chip with the AKC (like you do Joan), then he has no argument about which dog was OFA x-rayed as the vet will scan the chip and compare the number to the registration before doing the x-rays. At least that's how I remember it being done when getting Thor's OFA x-rays done, but I could be wrong. I would not be surprised if Bob did not chip his dogs as that would mean he could not claim the owners 'switch' dogs when getting them x-rayed, as he has done with Anne. Fraudsters like Bob will try to do anything to minimize their accountability. It is truly unfortunate that people like him get involved in the dog breeding world, as it's the dogs that ultimately suffer.

Agree, koots.
The reason I chip my puppies when I register them before they ever go to their new homes, is to keep track of them should they wind up in animal control. That has happened twice with pups rfom me when they slipped out the front and owners didn't stop them.
Animal control contacted me both times and got them in touch with the owner. One of the times was to verify the owner before ac turned the dog over to the owner.

Also, chip will positively id the dog ...for whatever the circumstance.
And yes, ofa likes to have positive id but not mandatory...

She was just chipped before X-rays a few days ago in my name. She (the vet) is sending X-rays again to OFA with the chip so it will be recorded with OFA and AKC. She was in his sons name, and directly transferred to me at 8 weeks old. AKC DNA will confirm her identity as well. Doing that as well.

I am not arguing with you Hans. I have an uncle that has been a judge for more that 30 years. I have 4 other friends who are attorneys. As I stated, I don’t need your legal advice. I got this.

Anne, the DNA markers from your dog must be matched with both parents and so there must be DNA on record with AKC for both parents. Do you know if the parents have been DNA' d for id purposes?
If not, DNA from your dog will be useless for parent match.

by Anne5928 on 23 December 2018 - 20:12

Joanro he said he did, but we are talking about Bob Fox. He lied about the sire and dam having excellent hips, so I will check beforehand.

by Anne5928 on 23 December 2018 - 20:12

I have documentation of things I haven’t even stated here Hans. I can prove my case. “Court” doesn’t scare me.

by joanro on 23 December 2018 - 21:12

Check with AKC if there is recorded DNA on the parents before you give AKC money for the match.
