selling pregnant bitches - Page 7

When I started this thread I really didn't have in mind a discussion of whether or not it would be "safe" for a pg bitch to travel, it was more or less a matter of trying to understand the mindset of those who breed bitches and then advertise them for sale like nothing more that livestock. Sorry if this steps on anyone toes, but it seems very callous and uncaring to me. It rubs me wrong to read ads offering pg bitches for sale. It might be a good opportunity for the buyer, but it really doesn't say much about the mentality of a seller who makes a habit and perhaps a living out of breeding bitches and then offering them for sale. Most breeders I know make a breeding because they want to keep something for themselves, and they would never sell a pg bitch. Of course, these breeders value their dogs as individuals, not for what they can do for their wallet. Is breeding GSD a business or a hobby? I know of no other breed where such a practice is condoned.
