Yasko is faultless and was VA 1 two years running. He is the best thing you could have brought in to upset NA. Why is NA so important? Most know very well, that alot of the NA market is getting pretty fed up with what is being imported from Germany. The market has faded in comparison with Russia and China. Maybe, just maybe, this is a shot in the arm to get us all more involved again. We are important enough. Who knows? Only the players behind the scenes. This is a terrible predicament for Mr. Setzer. In the final end, he will be judging German dogs for the top places and this is North America where one hopes to really bring a sense of commonality between all the diverging clubs. After my initial joy, I am beginning to have misgivings. I still wish I were in Madison to judge this for myself.

Reddoggie said: Hmmmmm......First Kevin....Now Yasko................... Do the Germans know something we don't? Hmmmm......... ------------------------------------------------------ This is a great time for us in North America! All praises to Mr. Fleischer for bringing in great dogs all these years. we also thank Ms. Tracy Bullinger for Kevin! Our gene poll in this continent is fertile and diverse! Question is, if we North Americans, particularly, we Americans, know what to do with these genes! Remember the criticism or non utility of other greats like VA1 Lasso Neuenberg, Ajax Haller Osning (spelling), Jello Winerau, Putz, and other working dog greats in this country? I pray this does not happen again. Instead of asking, what the Germans know that we don't, we should be worried that 2 years from now, if we do not get enough great dogs out of these great studs. In that case, the Germans will know (and confirm) what we really don't know, i.e. how to breed! But certainly everyone knows we are all "experts" in everything but produced nothing! Let us not debate why a German VA is show cased in these shows! Rather, let us applaud these people, bringing in these great dogs. A standing ovation, tribute, cheers etc.! I just hope that smaller "breeders" select their studs based on henotypic and genotypic compatibility rather than a placement! Indeed exciting to see this show! Now I have to bring a camera! JMHO, Roger T.

Yasko vom Farbenspiel, who is fabenspiel? ie. missing the "R". Yasko vom Fabenspiel might be cheaper stud fees!

Dawnmarie, will you let us know what you see? Please keep the unfortunate informed. And Peter, you have a good sense of humour. Let's make a new post called the NASS and its top players. Sunny

It's not that hard to figure out...Germany is saturated with Yasko blood already, so time to move on. We are NOT yet saturated, so he comes here for a while where he will likely be used a great deal. It's a very good opportunity for those who like the bloodlines here in NA. His appearance at the NASS is a way to announce his arrival before a large market of breeders, up close and personal. Simple. Diane

In speaking to a gentleman representing Farbenspiel at the NASS, I learned that Yasko is returning to Germany, but soon will return to the US to stay at Bill Fleischer's in Dallas. He said that Yasko has nothing left to prove in Germany and will do much to improve our NA dogs in the years he has left to breed. I quite agree with that. We are very fortunate to have two German VA dogs in NA of different bloodlines to help improve our stock and let's hope we make the best use of this opportunity. I don't think it is a question of the Germans knowing something we don't know. It is a matter of several individuals willing to take the chance to make a HUGE investment dedicated to improving the breed here in America, and this ought to be recognized and appreciated by GS enthusiasts.
